Day 1: Arrival in Djerba

Welcome to Djerba! Upon arrival, you'll be transferred to your hotel. Enjoy a relaxing dinner and settle in for the night.

Day 2: Djerba – Ghigtis – Tataouine (130 km)

After breakfast, departure is at 8:00 a.m. Visit Djerba Hood in the charming village of Erriadh, where artists from around the world have decorated the walls with vibrant street art. Then, continue to Ghigtis (Jektis), a coastal site established by the Carthaginians and later developed by the Romans. Explore the ancient ruins, including the forum, capitol, thermal baths, and market.
Proceed to Tataouine, where you'll check in at the hotel and have lunch. In the afternoon, visit the picturesque village of Chenini, known for its ridge-top white mosque contrasting with the ocher stone buildings. You can also tour a traditional oil mill. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel in Tataouine.

Day 3: Tataouine – Les Ksours – Toujane – Matmata (160 km)

After breakfast, departure at 8:00 a.m. towards Les ksours, visit to the Ksours of the south of Tataouine: Ksar Zenata, this fortress-like construction is one of the oldest Ksours in the region. Ksar Ouled Soltan where young watercolorists inspired by the magic of the place offer some of their works... little wonders! The little café at the entrance to the ksar is very nice for an immersion with the locals, they make excellent tea there. The beautiful mountain road takes us to Toujane to enjoy a delicious herbal tea facing the old village (Bon miel). Berber lunch at 1:00 p.m. We will then see the Matmata mountains with their troglodyte houses. Women still use the vertical loom to weave beautiful, brightly colored kilims. It is in this region that several films were filmed: Star Wars, The Life of Bryan, Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark, etc. Dinner and night at the Hotel in Matmata.

Day 4: Matmata – Douz (90 km)

After breakfast, depart at 8:00 a.m. for Douz via the Saharan road. Upon arrival, check into the hotel and have lunch. In the afternoon, visit the Douz market, known for its vibrant stalls and exquisite Deglet Nour dates from the local palm groves. Enjoy a thrilling 4x4 ride through the sand dunes, then experience a unique dinner in the dunes accompanied by traditional Berber flute music.

Day 5: Douz – Chott el Djerid – Kebili – Tozeur (125 km)

After breakfast, leave at 8:00 a.m. to cross Chott el Djerid, a vast salt flat with strikingly beautiful salt formations and pink-hued pools. Visit Kebili to see the water coolers used in the palm groves, and explore the petrified dunes. Continue to Tozeur, where you'll check into the hotel and have lunch.
In the afternoon, discover Tozeur's charming medina, built with distinctive honey-colored bricks. Admire the play of light and shadow in the decorative patterns that give this area its unique character. After dinner, visit the Dar Chraeit Museum, known for its cultural exhibits and traditional architecture.

Day 6: Tozeur – Tameghza – Mides – Chebika – Ong Jmel (50 km)

After breakfast, depart at 8:00 a.m. for a stroll through the palm gardens known as the "Garden of Paradise." Visit the Sahara Zoo to see desert species like jackals, fennecs, scorpions, and horned vipers. Next, head to Tameghza, where you'll have lunch at the Tamaghza Palace Hotel. Continue to Chebika to see the scenic waterfalls and explore the narrow gorge with its fascinating fossils.
Visit Mides, a dramatic canyon oasis known for its breathtaking views and citrus trees. This location has been used for film scenes, adding to its allure. Finally, make a stop at Ong Jmel for a brief adventure before returning to your hotel in Tozeur.

Day 7: Tozeur – Kebili – Gabès – Djerba (350 km)

After breakfast, depart at 8:00 a.m. for Gabès, passing through the oases of Kebili and El Hamma. Gabès is the second-largest city in southern Tunisia after Sfax. Enjoy a carriage ride through its beautiful oasis, and then have lunch in Gabès. Continue to Djerba, passing through Mareth, a significant World War II battlefield where the German General Rommel met his end. Take a ferry to Djerba, known as the "Island of Dreams." Once you arrive, check into your hotel for dinner and accommodation.

Day 8: Djerba

After breakfast, depart at 8:00 a.m. to explore Djerba's villages. Visit the Ghriba Synagogue, one of the oldest in Tunisia and a significant part of the Jewish community on the island. Stroll through the souks of Houmet Souk, Djerba's capital, where you can find a variety of goods and crafts. Have lunch at a traditional restaurant, then visit the village of Guellala, famous for its pottery. Return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 9: Departure

After breakfast, depart at 8:00 a.m. for the airport. Your departure will be assisted, ensuring a smooth end to your journey. Safe travels!
